in addition to the normal fast-food chains present almost everywhere in the world, rio de janeiro offers a few unique fast-food franchises.

japanese fast food is fast-becoming one of rio's best loved cuisines - in 2006, the first koni shop was opened in leblon, and has since then established itself as a japanese fast-food chain which has branches across the country.

koni is sushi-based fast food restaurant offering a limited sushi menu mostly centered around temaki, which is sushi served in cones - with many locations including but not limited to the districts of ipanema, leblon, copacabana, and several shopping malls.

spoleto is a fast food franchise where pasta is prepared to order right in front of the customer -  patrons can choose among a variety of pasta types, then select their choice of sauce, and finally direct the cook to add a few extra ingredients of their choosing.

spoleto restaurants have been popular for a while, and almost every food court in rio's shopping malls has one.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
