Brazil and costa rica have interconnected projects in postal service, agriculture, health, biofuels and water resources - the last two areas being of special interest, since costa rica is known worldwide for being one of the most environment-friendly countries.

Costa Rica does not have a permanent consulate in Rio de Janeiro, but it is represented in Brasília and in times of special events honorary consulates may be available.
