Brazil and barbados formed diplomatic relations 1971 shortly after the country gained independence in 1966 - in 1985 the first brazilian embassy in barbados opened in Bridgetown, while the first barbadian resident embassy in brazil opened in april 2010.

The first direct international flight from Brazil to reach this area of the Caribbean started in 2010 and went from săo paulo to bridgetown - Since then, partly due to this direct air link, commercial and cultural trade grew, and in 2015 the bilateral trade between Brazil and barbados amounted to approximately 21.7 million. arrow-back      arrow-forward
