trade between Brazil and dominican republic has grown 75 percent over the previous fifteen years and is currently sitting at 550 million - in 2015 brasil's minister of foreign affairs visited santo domingo and drew up project plans in the fields of social security, health, human rights and education.

the dominican republic does not have permanent consular representation in Rio, but is represented in Brasília and might open honorary consulates in times of great events or in case of special demands.
