the majority of the hike is relatively gentle, however the trail does get steeper towards the end of the journey, especially the final stretch, which has 117 steps carved into stone, taking hikers to the summit. if hikers do not feel comfortable tackling the final sections, there is an option to finish the trail at the tijuca mirim, at an altitude of 917 meters.

however, from the final peak, conquerors are treated to a wonderful view of rio, which includes some of marvelous city's most iconic landmarks. arrow-back     arrow-forward
