at a glance

the trail to the beaches begins at the end of the barra de guaratiba, behind a hill at the end of the coast. it is a fairly lightweight hike, which can last anywhere between 50 minutes and 3 hours, depending on which beach participants are trying to reach.

whilst not a strenuous walk, there isn't much vegetation along the trail, meaning there is high exposure to the sun, making sunscreen a must. even though the natural vegetation along the walk is low, there are certain points of interest along the track, such as a natural water sprout, known as riacho da vovó - however, the real draws of this hike are the beaches on the trail, offering participants the perfect tonic to a hot walk in the tropical sun. arrow-back     arrow-forward
