The smaller of the two circular trails is the Trilha Cláudio Maya, also called Circuito Histórico (Historical course) that runs through the valleys of the hills, passing through many ruins, colonial paths and waterfalls - While this trail is not considered hard by most people, it is bigger than Trilha dos Estudantes and easier than the bigger one.

trilha Major Archer is the bigger circular trail from the three most popular ones, and although it overlaps Cláudio Maya trail in some points, this trail is more difficult for not using the valleys as a pathway, but going uphill instead, and surmounting many hills in the Tijuca Forest.
