once on the trail, the hike up to the mirante do caeté is a relatively simple affair, of approximately 800 meters, and lasting about half an hour.

the journey is packed full of tropical flora and exotic fauna, which includes fig and cinnamon trees, orchids, sloths, parrots, and numerous lizards, amongst others.
