at a glance
on sunday, the main roads next to the beaches of flamengo, copacabana, ipanema and leblon are closed to traffic - so for those who enjoy cycling for exercise or as past time, this is the perfect time to get out on two wheels.

further to the bicycle paths, the prefecture is improving its services in a number of way for those that use a bike for enjoyment, and as a method of transport - the city, keen to try and reduce the amount of cars on the roads, is  increasing the number of subway stations that have public cycle racks for people to leave their bikes.

these spots at the metrô stations are normally located inside granting security to bike owners - there are racks available both at the stops of the metrô subway lines, at at many of the supervia train lines, on any day of the week - if cyclists are traveling by metrô on a saturday, sunday, or main holidays then they will be allowed to take their bike onto the last carriage of the metrô.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
