latin american music has many genres including but not limited to salsa, reggaeton, tango,  merengue, and bachata, all of which have made a mark in the city of rio. 

a number of hispanic artists exploring these melodies have left their mark in rio de janeiro, seeing as cariocas are constantly searching for a beat to dance to, creating an endless, and very receptive, demand for rhythms and tunes.
