according to the legend, an indigenous woman used
to go and swim every afternoon at this beach, until one day she
never came back from the waters and her cat maracajá remained on
the rock looking out to sea and awaiting her return for the rest
of his life.
also called
pedra dos amores (rock of the
romances), this area was once rich of
flamboyants, the
characteristic
trees with red flowers once abundant on the
island.
