a word of caution is necessary - as foreign visitors are never seen here, and illegal activities are often reported in the area. but for those wanting to walk on the wild side, these beach-front buildings are converted into music venues playing axé, pagode, and funk whilst girls in skimpy outfits dance along to the music. some of the restaurants become videokês (karaoke), bars that sell affordable booze and beer to thirsty observers and amateur vocalists.
