while this somehow limited tourism at the time, it actually resulted in the perfect preservation of this part of the shore. part of the beautiful vies of this beach is rio's skyline, that becomes particularly impressive at night. praia brava is located inside the area de área de proteção ambiental e recuperação urbana do jequiá,  a protected area created to preserve the mangrove area in the island.
