the neighborhood of zumbi on ilha do governador is one of the oldest on the islands, built on the fishing industry and the cultivation of clams for lime production. 

 it is also one of the nicest neighborhoods as it it home to much of the high income households of the island. praia do zumbi is a large, square stretch of sand that is home to a football pitch and a few food kiosks.
