The second most renowned of the Grupo Estação is the ipanema theatre Estação Ipanema, which brings together cultural thinkers and enthusiasts from this thriving area of the city - located on visconde de pirajá, The cinema opened in 2000, providing those in the vicinity with a cinema 'close to home'.

It amassed a steady and loyal entourage - the wealthy and elite of the older generation, as well as the young film enthusiasts who pepper the trendy neighborhood - and today the cinema has one of the highest rates of attendance of all theatres in the city.
