The spot can be accessed by car or bus, and for the more adventurous, it is possible to hike or cycle - The park opened in 1976 on the Viração hill and has an altitude of 270m, making it a rather strenuous exercise to ascend.

On site, there is a little café which serves beer or juice and at the weekend offers breakfast from 9am, giving visitors the opportunity to nourish themselves while taking in the breath-taking sights.

The park is also a highly desirable spot for paragliding, because of the impressive height and sensational views - Companies like Pepê Parapente offer accompanied flights from the top of the park, which last around 20-30 minutes, and culminate at one of Niterói's beaches - These flights are conducted by professionals who navigate passengers through the air, as they take in their surroundings - A camera captures the whole flight in full HD so that the unique and exhilarating experience can be revisited for years to come.
