every august, fotorio - the annual international photography meeting of rio de janeiro, aims at enhancing photography as a cultural movement.

fotorio gives visibility to major public and private collections, as well as  collections and contemporary photographic productions both in brazil and abroad, through exhibitions, projections and urban interventions courses, seminars, workshops, roundtables, lectures and conferences.

the intention is to highlight, through an event of international proportions, the importance of communication and photography in contemporary social life, seeking to reach audiences beyond museum-goers and art-photography enthusiasts.
