the boom in brazil's economy over the last decade has been paralleled by an energetic renaissance in its film industry and running in 10 different cities annually, rio's film festival demonstrates  a diverse and rich range of brazilian produced titles.

rio de janeiro's international film festival, festival do rio, takes place between september and october.

with over 15 editions of the event, the festival showcases more than 400 film screenings from around 60 countries, spread across 30 different venues in the city.
