december 8th is the day dedicated to the orisha Mãe Oxum (mother oshun), on th day of the saint Nossa Senhora da Conceição (our lady of conception) - this is the day the christman tree is decorated and offerings made to the saint worshipped as the goddess of wealth, fertility, and love that can make love moorings and pregnancies happen like no other orisha.

Finally, on december 31, the orixá yemanjá is honored - 'Queen of the Sea' she is asked for Health and prosperity in the new year.
