in august, miguel pereira hosts the unijeep cup, an off-road rally for enthusiasts of all stripes - with different divisions (and trails) to accommodate professional teams, free agents, beginners and even families, the rally offers the opportunity to take 4x4 vehicles to their limits in the rugged terrain that surrounds the city.  

in fact, the area around miguel pereira is so ideal for off-roading that the city puts on trilha de jola, a similar event for motorcycles, in september.

the feira nacional de artesanato (fenart) or the national craft fair, brings artisans from all over brazil as well as countries such as japan, turkey, ecuador, lebanon and chile for a meeting that combines shopping with entertainment.

amongst the 60 booths featuring international vendors are restaurant stands serving brazilian churrascaria as well as workshops specializing in theater, puppetry and crafts. shoppers can find rare items from around the world, such as clothes from india at the stand bella indiana. 'it gets better every edition,' stand owner solange reis promises.
