made available by rio de janeiro's city prefecture and datafolha instituto de pesquisas, HÁBITOS CULTURAIS DOS CARIOCAS - População residente na cidade do rio de janeiro com 12 anos ou mais ( carioca cultural habits - Resident population in the city of rio de janeiro with 12 years or more) this study aims at gaining a profound understanding of the cultural habits of the carioca population, in order to provide guidance for public policy planning in the area of culture, by monitoring cultural indicators.

the technique adopted was quantitative research, conducted by personally approaching respondents in points of population flux. Interviews were conducted through the application of structured questionnaires which lasted around 30 minutes. the checks took place after the collection of data and covered at least 20% of the material of each researcher.
