The festival brings together contemporary authors and readers, and includes debates, workshops, a poetry slam and some of the biggest and most well-loved literary names in world literature.  

It aims to be a ‘Literary Festival of the Peripheries', having taken place last year in Mangueira.

The event is completely free, and is part of a platform to improve access to different forms of cultural capital.

the festival brings some of the leading national and international writers and thinkers together to create and debate in and about the city's favelas - The objective is using dialogue, the arts and a sprinkling of creativity to unite different areas of Rio, and empower the disenfranchised.    arrow-back      arrow-forward
