at a glance

rio de janeiro is blessed with a tropical climate and wonderfully high temperatures throughout the year - there is also plenty of sunshine - temperatures typically hover between 25 and 30 degrees celsius, rarely straying too far either side.

the mercury has been known to rise above 40 degrees on occasion, especially so around inland areas of the city although the temperature rarely stays this high for too long - however, the city's climate does border on monsoon conditions meaning warm, heavy rain for extended periods of time, usually between december and march.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
