but it was only in the 1940's that programs that played popular music, casting idols as carmen miranda and orlando silva started to come out - also at that same time comedy, and auditorium programs were being produced, which counted with the participation of the public. the first radio soap opera, called 'em busca da felicidade' was aired in the 'radio nacional' in 1941. it was the beginning of the country's obsession with them - in the 1950's however, the radio's popularity started to decline with the arrival of the television, and soap operas began to be aired on tv instead of radios. |
