at a glance
told from the point of view of his son, bruno quintella (screenwriter of the documentary), the film explores the life of the reporter through interviews with his family, friends and professional colleagues, telling previously untold stories about the father of a son as well as a journalist.

born in rio grande do sul, lopes moved to rio de janeiro when still a child and had a great love for the 'marvellous city', its football and samba.

in his work he endeavored to give a voice to rio's marginalized population, the poor, prostitutes, drug addicts, beggars and laborers and expose the world of drug trafficking and violence in rio's favela communities.

the documentary was made ten years after lopes' shocking death in 2002 when he was killed by drug traffickers whilst reporting on child prostitution in vila cruzeiro in rio.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
