the festival takes place in a number of different locations throughout the city, starting off in rio de janeiro's northern zone, and moving its way throughout the city.

some of the venues that will host the productions are: the arena carioca jovelina pérola negra, the centro cultural da justiça federal, the museu de arte do rio - mar, and the cervantes institute, among others. 

of the over 10o productions that are shown each year, there is a varied mix of long, medium and short films, with entries from all over the world, as the festival features works from 24 different countries.   

there are a great number of styles and topics covered throughout the festival, including sports, dance, filmography, and animation.
