it features films from all over the latin world, in various different forms and genres, including fictions and documentaries, in long, medium, and short form. one of the oldest film festivals in rio, cinesul began 20 years ago, as a venture by the banco do brasil to bring previously unreleased productions from latin america to the brazilian public. it started as an exhibition of independent cinema and film from mercosul countries, but has since grown to include countries from the iberian peninsula, such as portugal and spain. it also developed into a competitive festival in 2002, with various competitions for the films to enter, and prizes for the winners - it is held in the centro cultural banco do brasil and the cinemateca do museu de arte moderna, which are both outstanding locations for a feast of cinema - cinesul festival's official webpage offers more information on this link. | one day in rio | |||
