Another favela-based entrepreneurial event took place in January of 2015, called Feira Favela Criativa (Creative Favela Fair)- Entrepreneurs from favelas all across the country gave 8 minute presentations on their unique business idea and the 40 successful pitches received R$50,000 to invest in their idea, as well as technical and operational support.

The Fair was the product of a partnership between the government and private enterprise.

Exponentially increasing interest and commitment to business enterprise has been met in like kind with concerted efforts by governments and NGOs to nurture and support the development of local favela economies, seeing in their growth the potential for a stronger and more united Rio.
