They are rich heritage sites, protected by the authorities: federal, state and municipal, which are difficult to decode because of their great variety, ranging from erudite to vernacular architecture. For this reason perhaps, Rio's architectural environment has never been analyzed as a whole. the author conducted research about the constructed environment through the lens of new categories of cultural goods that have prevailed in international discourse on the topics of cultural landscapes and Cultural Heritage.
