The proposal is to develop a pilot project in Morro do Andaraí, located in Rio de Janeiro City, which would be executed through an environmental education program about selective collection, and the construction of a plant for garbage recycling, and another one for organic garbage composting.

This project intends to: contribute to the improvement of the population's quality of life; promote effective environmental benefits with regards to the use of natural resources and recycling; reduce the areas occupied by sanitary fills; produce social benefits such as social integration, employment and revenue generation; and, benefit the city government's economy.
