In the first year, whilst doing a Bachelor's course in Physical Education at UFRJ (The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) and as an ex-gymnast, I had the opportunity to prepare and deploy the Project 'GRD no Ritmo da Mangueira', in the Mangueira Social Program, within the Olympic Project. During 12 years many changes took place in classification levels, in both types of sport (old GRD and current GR) at the sport project to which I refer (formerly Vila Olímpica da Mangueira, and today Centro de Referência Esportiva Vila Olímpica da Mangueira). In the everyday work of a Rhythmic Gymnast (GR) many questions arose in respect to the relationship between sport, education and inclusion. This work emerged out of observation and involvement in pedagogical practices which permeate the GR universe offered to children and adolescents, at the social project and in the sports mentioned above.
