at a glance

Guarabu is an unofficial neighborhood located along a section of Estrada do Galeao, or Galeao Street, which is a part of zona norte (north zone) of Rio de Janeiro circulated by a number of neighborhoods including cacuia, jardim carioca, and jardim guanabara on the Ilha do Governador.

The residents of this area consider this neighborhood to be of great value, as it represents a relevant source of commerce, one that is highly diversified and developed, that manages to encompass both the middle and working classes.

In addition, when the restaurant Pai d'égua, now known as zero grau, was opened, the neighborhood became a point of interest beyond its limits, attracting visitors from across the city as well. Now the neighborhood counts a number of good restaurants, pizzarias, and bars to offer to meet the needs of visitors.
