at a glance

the fazenda botafogo (botafogo farm) is a small part of the coelho neto neighborhood in the north zone of rio de janeiro - it is enclosed by the avenida martin luther king to the east, avenida brazil to the south, the rua pedro jório to the west and, finally, the acari river to the north.

it is surrounded by the neighborhoods of acari to the east and costa barros to the north, not far from jardim colúmbia, just beyond the bridge across the acari river.

this residential area was built in the 1970s, using an urban development plan similiar to the well known cidade de deus neighborhood - city of god, characterized by straight lines and short buildings.
