at a glance

nowadays Olaria is a predominantly quiet residential neighborhood with few green squares dotted around the houses and buildings - two of the most significant residential areas are Praça Clomir Teles Cerbino, or 'Clomir Teles Cerbino Square', and Praça Doutor Waldir da Mota, or 'Doctor Waldir da Mota Square

Olaria has a soccer stadium, located in Rua Bariri, or 'Bariri Street', which opened in 1947 and belongs to the football team, Olaria Atlético Clube. First formed in 1915, the team was amongst the first of its kind in Rio de Janeiro, although at the time it was known as Olaria Futebol Clube, or 'Olaria Football Club'.

Olaria has several pizzerias and bakeries, such as the Zio Vitto Pizzeria and the Padaria e Confeitaria Nova Flor de Olaria, or the 'Bakery and Confectionary New Flower of Olaria', both of which are located very close to the train station. The Inanjara Hotéis Praia Club, or the 'Inajara Hotels Beach Club', is a popular hotel located in the area. arrow-back      arrow-forward
