the Parque Colúmbia Neighborhood is Located near the edge of the North Zone - zona norte, of Rio de Janeiro and it is surrounded by pavuna to the north, costa barros to the west, coelho neto, acariand irajáto the south, and  jardim américa to the east.

In the 1950s, the area had only a few settlers - the landscape was covered by woodlands, bush and coconut trees. The waters of the Rio acari, or 'acariRiver' boasted flourishing fauna and flora, which were the sustenance of the few people living along its shores.
in the second half of The construction of an urban development close to the highway, running alongside the river, diminished the natural richness of the area.

The urban construction project was implemented by Ferrometais Colombo Comércio e Indústria SA, or 'Ferrometals Colombo Trade and Industry Company' - Hence, the 'Colúmbia' name. The construction process began in 1956, and was further expanded in 1960. arrow-back      arrow-forward
