at a glance

In 1969 an urbanization scheme was developed on the western side, leading to significant population expansion in the following years. In the 1980s this new area was declared an independent neighborhood in its own right, officially named Parque Anchieta, or 'Anchieta Park'.

Parque Anchieta boasts a number of places of interest to visitors. Outside the railroad station is the Praça João Moreira, or João Moreira Square, peppered with green trees and plants, it contains a couple of Churrascarias, or 'grill restaurants'.

From this square, one can walk down to Rua Roque Barreto, or 'Roque Barreto Road', where the Panificação Estrela do Parque, or 'Park Star Bakery' is situated, along with the important Avenida Cirpriano Barata, or 'Cirpriano Barata Avenue'. arrow-back      arrow-forward
