The spatial area under examination is the neighborhood of Campinho, located in the Northern area of the city, where TransCarioca generated controversy over the demolition of houses which had previously been protected by the municipality. Historiographical research and data from newspapers have been used to guide discussion about how the suburban area of the city is changing and the consequences of this transformation on the daily life of the population. Presented by the    Universidade de São Paulo, the study Explicadoras do Rio de Janeiro: encontros e desencontros em trajetórias profissionais singulares - Explainers of Rio de Janeiro: encounters and departures in unique professional trajectories, by Luiz Otavio Neves Mattos, presents an empirical study based on an ethnographic approach that sought to analyze the trajectories of nine explainers, i. e., teachers that taught in their own homes in places such as dining rooms, porches and backyards to classes made up of students with educational levels ranging from elementary to middle school. arrow-back      arrow-forward
