at a glance

pedra do arpoador, translated as arpoador's rock, is the name given to a rock outcropping, which projects from the beach of the same name, sandwiched in between ipanema and praia do diabo.

the landmark has become particularly famous as a site that offers visitors some of the most incredible and varied landscapes, all from one twist of the head - ranging from christ the redeemer on corcovado to the sugar loaf.

looking west from the rock, visitors are treated to spectacular views of ipanema and leblon beaches, whilst the impressive morro dois irmãos and pedra da gávea stand proud in the distance.

to the east, an equally stunning view is on offer, which includes, the fort of copacabana and copacabana beach, the leme neighborhood, and the iconic sugar loaf mountain in the distance. arrow-back      arrow-forward
