a hike of moderate difficulty, the ascent to pedra do elefante, or alto do mourăo as it is also known, is one of the most well trodden, but most gratifying walks in niterói . the trail takes hikers along a path of approximately two kilometers, eventually arriving at the peak, with an altitude of 412 meters, making it the highest point of serra da tiririca.
