from the zona sul, bus lines 332  (Alvorada - Castelo via Avenida Sernambetiba) gets to alto da boa vista. from the zona oeste, bus lines 301 (Rodoviária - barra da tijuca via Avenida das Américas), and 345 (Barra da Tijuca - Candelária via Furnas) go along these routes.

the most popular access point to the park is in the neighborhood of alto da boa vista because its proximity to waterfalls, easy trails, pic-nic areas, the mayrink chapel, the visitors' center, and the spectacular mirante of boa vista, a city landmark in itself - the park is open daily between 7 am and 6 pm, but entry times are subject to change depending on the season and the various access points. we always recommend checking with a local guide and arranging return transportation in advance. most activities, venues, trails, and hikes inside the forest are free of charge.
