the enchanting cascata diamantina is located inside the tijuca national park, close to the entrance at afonso vizeu square in the neighborhood of alto do boa vista. the 1 kilometer trail, that leads throught the stunning flora of the tijuca forest and past historic sites such as old ruins and coffee plantations, is of light difficulty.

this waterfall is in close proximity to cascatinha taunay and many visitors move between the throughout the day. both of these locations are only accessible to the public between 8am and 5pm - the official opening times of the tijuca national park.
