the area on the right of the pier, towards praia do galeão, i s used mostly to station fishing boats, it is not particularly clean, and it is not used to enjoy the water or the view.

however, on the left of the pier, farther from the entrance into ilha do governador, is an area rich with kiosks, restaurants, and general infrastructure meant to transform this beach into a lively area on nights and week-ends.

music is played regularly in the various establishments, and the beach itself is kept clean to allow sitting and enjoying the sand.
