Rio de Janeiro hosts the biggest circus festival in Latin America, the International Festival of Circus, which enjoyed its second installment in 2014, bringing together 50 national and international acts to perform in over 60 locations in the city, including a number of favelas - The festival exhibits the daring, innovative and stimulating works of performers who work tirelessly to develop the circus art form.

Rio also hosts an annual Magic festival in tijuca, called 'Magic in Rio', which brings together the best magicians from around the globe, providing an opportunity for audiences to delight in an assortment of inventive and masterful performances - There is certainly no shortage of opportunities to satisfy those with a penchant for trickery, surprise and spectacle.

Rio is also temporary home for many international stars, hosting breathtaking shows in the maracanã stadium, at the praça da apoteose and even at copacabana beach - While Maracanã has hosted major international stars like Madonna and Bono Vox, Praça da Apoteose receives very talented entertainers as well as the Copacabana beach, being the concerts on the latter normally sponsored by the city hall.
