study, which took over 15 years to complete, conducted in
archives and institutes in Brazil, Portugal, France and the
Vatican.
The work was a great feat of dedication, not least because
of the scarcity of documents and testimonies from that period -
Amongst its many achievements, the work maps all of the
Fluminense mills of the time and the discovery of the true,
original name of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (Rodrigo de
Freitas Lagoon).
