As it is typical for favelas, roads are narrow and access to the highest parts of the communities is difficult. in cantagalo-pavão-pavãozinho projects are currently underway to address these challenges, specifically the construction of two large roads: avenida pavãozinho in pavão and estrada custódio mesquita in cantagalo. 

this is in addition to a number of other services and infrastructural project underway, such as improvements of sewage systems, water distributions, and legalization of land and business records.
