The circuit is run by Sebrae-RJ, in partnership with government bodies, businesses, and residential and commercial associations.

The rocinha favela has played host to two vibrant and inclusive gay parades, bringing together people from across Rio in festive support of all creed and color of sexual orientation.

The first event of its kind took place in September of 2010, in which people congregated on the winding alleys and slopes of the throbbing community, to dance, laugh and celebrate freedom and equality.

A car embellished with sparkly balloons and banners of rainbow colors issued lively electronic music to enchant the crowds.    arrow-back      arrow-forward
