Sitting in a favela, atop a restaurant patio, visitors are able to immerse themselves in day to day favela culture, watching residents go about their daily lives, and even offering them the opportunity to talk to locals and connect with them in a meaningful way.

From these heights, one can also take in exquisite views of the cityscape, beaches, and mountains below - a breathtaking backdrop to any gastronomic experience.

The Gastronômico Sebrae na Mesa em Comunidades (Sebrae Gastronomic Circuit at the Table of Communities) propels restaurants, culinary establishments and cooks from Rio's favelas to the forefront of the city's conscience and pallet.

The restaurants and eateries included in the festival come from ten favelas -  providênciaand Morro do Pinto, santa marta, tabajaras & cabrito, chapéu mangueira, babilônia, rocinha, and vidigal, all of which have been pacified by the polícia pacificadora.
