easy to spot from the shore, pedra do índio is a landmark and  a symbol from the whole city of niterói.

not far from it, another landmark in the bay is the ilha dos cardos is home to (or is sometimes called as a whole) cadeira do imperador  (the emperor's throne) due to its peculiar shape resembling a chair.  

this formation is easy to see from the shores of  praias da boa viagem and praia das flechas, and has been painted and photographed by tourists as much as artists.

near the left tip of praia das flexas, pedra de itapucacan be seen - this historical rock, is a very popular spot for many beachgoers who dive from it. arrow-back      arrow-forward
