as so, the three thousand local inhabitants live in a great variety of houses, connected by streets rich with trees, something that along with the absence of cars gives a very special feel to the island.  

but this isolation doesn't mean that gigóia is void of points of interest or small businesses.

the barra vento inn is in northern edge of the island, while on the opposite side of it one can find smaller establishments like the capriccio cantina & bar, the alla pergola pizzeria, the laguna restaurant or the galego's bar.
