at a glance

to the north is the conceiçăo island. inhabited by some six thousand people and boasting some important docks, this island resulted from the embankment of two pre-existing islets.

it is linked to the caju island through a small bridge, which itself connects to the much larger niterói- rio bridge.

to the south is the ponta d'areia neighborhood, which is part of mainland niterói.

the neighborhood has historically been linked with naval activity and today the niterói harbor itself is considered part of the neighborhood.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
